The "MoT", Executive MBA in Management of Technology is made up of three distinctive but complementary parts:
(A description of each module can be found by going to the current or previous "Schedule".) The training in Lausanne is made up of 20 modules taking place at the end of the week, on Friday and Saturday (except for the one week introduction module) and focuses on the interaction of 4 major themes. On one hand:
modules on these themes develop participants competences in intrapreneurship (creating new activities within existing firms) and entrepreneurship (creating new ventures, new firms. Academic teaching and participants’ diversified background & experience produce the necessary mix to develop a new mindset. On the other hand, two options:
allows the participants to choose the theme and modules they are most interested in. Both innovation themes can also be taken. Throughout the program, an entrepreneurial project leads all participants to experiment and prepare for the creation of new ventures. The teaching is based on a concrete, pragmatic approach with extensive use of case studies fostering class participation and group work. It also includes the development by teams of business plans aiming at the creation of new ventures. The Study Trip and the Training period at an University abroad provide a foreign perspective on new ventures as well as developing additional managerial competencies. The practical part of the program consists of innovative project work that shall be of strategic importance for the hosting enterprise, organization or new venture. It can be pursued in the enterprise in which the participant already works. Bringing value to the company or to potential investors, it can be performed individually, or in pairs usually made up of an engineer and a manager.

The project involves an internship within a company. Conducted over a 3-4 month period. The general objectives are to:
Internship projects are based upon proposals normally provided by firms to the program administration. Participants who have maintained their professional activities during the training period may carry out the project within their company, often teaming-up with another program participant. Participants who joined the program with a new venture already in mind may continue to develop their own project. Project work is supervised by a member of the program faculty. At the end, the results of the project are presented in a written report and defended orally before a jury. (MoT Internship timing and organization)
